Cheri Morrison, a Serial Entrepreneur and Sales & Marketing Specialist, shared the story behind her title with us on September 22, 2019.
Cheri holds a degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. She has been an integral member of numerous successful, startup businesses including restaurants, nightclubs, corporate food service programs, catering, event planning, and manufacturing.
Cheri established her own company, Culinary Crossing in 1989 with the renovation of the historic Gwynedd Valley Train Station. Culinary Crossing quickly became acclaimed for its fresh, high-quality foods for dining in, grab and go, heat and eat, and catered events. Cheri’s talents were discovered by the Genuardi family, who contracted Culinary Crossing, to manufacture fresh, high-quality soups and prepared foods for the entire Genuardi supermarket chain. She continued to build a customer base with other grocery chains, franchises, and food service accounts throughout the eastern seaboard, manufacturing, packaging and distributing thousands of gallons of product a week.
She designed the first stand-up, flexible, hot-fill retail pouches in the United States. After twenty-three years, Cheri sold her company and started her own consulting company. Her experience in management, marketing, sales, events, efficient layout and design, and financial acumen have benefited businesses of all types. Her passion for the hospitality, food & beverage industries has also led her to numerous philanthropic activities, holding cooking classes, demonstrations, and packaging products to raise funds for organizations including the Ronald McDonald House, Gift of Life, CHOP, and the YMCA.
She is a member of two nonprofit Boards: The Bruce Montgomery Foundation for the Arts and Simons Heart and is also a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier.
SUE SAYS
A long-time creative with an entrepreneurial drive, Cheri continued her love of all things culinary by launching her own company called Culinary Crossing. After a successful sale of the company in 2013, she stepped into her new role with the same enthusiasm for providing a top-notch event experience for all those fortunate enough to experience Karamoor Estate Wines.
