“Experience is a great teacher. As you learn, you gain confidence and as you gain confidence, you gain conviction.”

Jenna Kurath

Jenna Kurath, Vice President of Startup Development & Head of Comcast NBCU SportsTech, shared the story behind her title with us on April 12, 2023.

Jenna is the Vice President of Startup Development and Head of Comcast NBCU SportsTech, which finds, funds, and fast-tracks startups working at the intersection of sports and technology. In that role, she is responsible for leading the strategy for the accelerator fund, defining the investment thesis, and managing key industry partnerships. Jenna is also responsible for managing key industry partnerships, including the SportsTech Partner Consortium, comprised of Comcast NBCUniversal’s sports brands – NBC Sports, SkySports, Comcast Spectacor, and Golf – alongside NASCAR, PGA TOUR, WWE, and three US Olympic sports organizations. Before joining Comcast, Jenna held various business development, sales strategy, and communication roles at startups, pre-IPO organizations, to Fortune 500 companies, including Symantec and Concentric Networks.

Growing up and having a mother who struggled with medical issues, Jenna learned first hand the lesson of resilience.  While it was tough, her mother did not let her disability stand in the way of following her own dreams.  Jenna took that strength she witnessed with her as a competitive runner in college and well into adulthood, climbing directly up the corporate ladder to where she sits today.
