As Vice President of System Engineering at Comcast, Gabriella Vacca calls herself a Technology Humanist. With aspirations to study Philosophy and Psychology when she was young, she discovered through a conversation with her Mother, that perhaps she would be better suited in a math or science field…her empathetic nature may have been too engrained to efficiently help others as a Psychologist. What she discovered however was that she could indeed help others in technology through building systems that would enable better communication, engagement and creativity for people.

Full Biography

As Vice President of System Engineering at Comcast, Gabriella leads complex technology programs and is recognized as a pragmatic change-agent with global perspective with focus on people and business alignment toward strategic business architecture. Her responsibility at Comcast ranges from setting strategic directions for technology roadmaps, to commercial deployment of mission critical applications.

Gabriella’s passion for “connecting dots” and her ability to define technology solutions with focus on value realization, create the fabric to enable transformation, foster innovation and building synergistic partnerships. In today’s world, globalization and disruptive innovation dictate the need for leadership versatility, strategic scenario planning and collaboration, which constitute Gabriella’s leadership DNA. Her experience ranges across multiple business models, including international start-ups and Fortune 50 companies in the Communication Industry. Prior joining Comcast, she was the CIO for GoGo Inflight, built the first MVNO venture for ESPN Mobile and Disney, and held various positions at AT&T and Wireless Providers in Europe.

Gabriella has a degree in Engineering from University of Torino, Italy, and received her MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. She is a Board Director of Citizen Diplomacy International of Philadelphia, a member of many Executive Women in Technology organizations and has ongoing collaborations with various Universities for international cultural exchange programs and youth development.
