“I hope my non-traditional path will inspire other women to follow their passion no matter what age they are or what their background is.”

CeCe Moore,Chief Genetic Genealogist at Parabon, Founder of The DNA Detectives, ABC News Consultant and, most recently, star of The Genetic Detective on ABC, shared the story behind her title with Women To Watch Media® on June 14, 2020.
CeCe grew up in Rancho Bernardo (North County San Diego) with two older sisters and one younger brother. She attended Mt. Carmel High School where she was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame, and then University of Southern California where she studied voice, film and theater. CeCe worked in the entertainment field for almost two decades before going behind the camera as a producer and casting director. Her genetic genealogy career is her third career, and one she did not find until her 40’s. She holds no science degrees or certifications, and has no formal training in the field. She hopes her non-traditional path will inspire other women to follow their passion no matter what age they are or what their background is.
SUE SAYS…
CeCe’s path has been an interesting one, and it seems she’s just getting started. Once an actress, then a Director and now a Genetic Genealogist helping to solve cold cases. Her revelation that all of her career moves have led exactly to this point, allowed her to let go of regrets which is something we all need to learn.
