Money Matters: Why Me?

Have you ever had the opportunity to do something wonderful or special and think… why me?

This question runs through my head all the time when I think about my job.  Yesterday evening, I helped clients figure out how to pay for their son to go to college without having to eat ramen noodles for the rest of their lives.  Earlier in the week, I helped a long time client make the big decision… it was ok to retire a year early!

Kristin with Family.jpgIt got me thinking about magic.  My family and I just got back from a trip to Disney where magic is everywhere.  If I am being honest, it feels a little magical when I am able to give a client the good news that they can retire or send their child to college. In my mind, a job really doesn’t get any better than this.

But, dealing with money and peoples’ future is not always easy.

We all carry financial scars.  Some are self-inflicted and some are at the hands of others.  Unfortunately, the effects of bad financial decisions don’t discriminate either.  They impact the very young, the very old and everyone in between.  They can range from slight to very serious.  You might not think that even a magic wand can help…

But it can.
