I think of myself as being middle-brained…I’m not as “mathy” as my father, but I am strategic and analytical like him; I’m not “artsy” but I’m creative and strongly visual which I believe comes from my mother.

Suzanne Sawyer, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, shared the story behind her title with us on Sunday, April 7, 2019.

As an only child growing up in State College PA, Suzanne spent her time sailing and taking small trips in a Cessna 172 on weekends with her parents who both had a pilot’s license. She attributes her abilities to be both analytical and creative to her parents, and believes in personal and collaborative leadership.
