Michelle “Mace” Curran, Former U.S. Air Force Major & Pilot

Michelle “Mace” Curran, Former U.S. Air Force Major & Pilot and Motivational Speaker, will share the story behind her title with us on December 18, 2022.

Michelle grew up in a small town in Northern Wisconsin and was a super shy kid. From her humble beginnings, the importance of hard work and encouragement to chase her dreams was bestowed upon her at a young age. Always a thrill seeker, the desire to seek out something greater drove Michelle to leave her small town and join the military.

Michelle led an impressive career as a Fighter Pilot during her 13 years in the United States Air Force. From 2019-2021, she flew as the only female pilot for the Air Force Thunderbirds and performed for millions across the country and internationally. Upon joining this high-performing team, she rapidly discovered the best part was not the flying but the opportunity to inspire others. Michelle was only the 2nd woman to fly as the Lead Solo in the Thunderbird demonstration since the team’s creation in 1953. She realized this put her in a unique position to empower others.

Since leaving the US Air Force, Mace founded Upside Down Dreams, which inspires people to pursue dreams outside of their comfort zones. Mace delivers keynotes to organizations with lessons of grit, perseverance, determination, and teamwork. She empowers individuals to shift their mindset to see their true potential.
